The Front Door Welcome

Welcome to Haus Heidi – she’s a one of a kind local Whistler landmark, and she’s been lovingly restored on the outside while getting a top-to-bottom full gut back-to-the-studs renovation on the inside. Originally built in 1978 in the style of a Bavarian chalet, Haus Heidi was lifted and enlarged in 1986 with the addition of a new first floor and the turret (be sure to look at the historic photo wall on the 3rd floor to see Haus Heidi in her original 1978 incarnation). Over the years, Haus Heidi has been loved by thousands of guests, from the early days as a B&B through years of welcoming teams and visitors and groups. It has been meticulously renovated over a year and a half, the house has been reimagined as a luxury rental in contemporary alpine style and designed to celebrate the magnificence of the natural environment that is Whistler.

The Living Room & Turret Lounge, a.k.a “The Super Space”

Situated at the front of the house on the 2nd floor to harness the best mountain views, the living room and turret lounge beckons you to relax and unwind after a day spent exploring all that whistler has to offer. With 16’ wide sliding doors opening onto a large front deck, you can take your après “en plein air” and have a seamless connection between indoors and out. And on those big snow days you’ll want to enjoy some feet-up comfort while you pivot between the radiating heat of the modern gas fireplace and the ever changing vistas while reclining in one of our four swivel chairs. A plush velvet sofa sits on a natural wool carpet atop wide plank European white oak floors, all dressed in the softest neutral palette. The custom made banquette in the turret lounge promises to be a magnetic space for all guests to gather, share stories and catch up on the day’s adventures… or plan what happens next!

The Dining Room & Bar, a.k.a “The Super Space”

The renovation of Haus Heidi saw a dramatic transformation from a cozy ski chalet into a wide open gathering space executed in streamlined contemporary alpine style. For those who love restaurant dining, we’ve created your own private bistro! A pair of custom made solid white oak tables anchor the dining zone and are surrounded by vintage mid century modern chairs and a 14’ long mountain-facing leather banquette that’s sure to encourage memorable meals created in the gourmet kitchen. A pass through to the kitchen keeps the open flow between cooking and dining areas while a modern panelled wall gives separation from the kitchen hub for those who want to leave the prep to others and hire a private chef to elevate their culinary experience!

Adjacent to the dining room is the “après anytime” bar which will be your favourite watering hole in town. Backed with an exceptional slab of marble with a nod to the mountain peaks, the bar features quartz counters, a sink and dishwasher, plenty of storage for crystal stemware, and 2 glass front bar fridges to keep your beverages at the ideal chill temperature for your anytime enjoyment.

The Kitchen

Calling all gourmet enthusiasts – this is your kitchen! Extending across the entire back of the house on the 2nd floor, the chef’s kitchen is designed with gourmet cooking and gathering in mind. Two doors flank the range wall for easy circulation to the huge 2nd floor deck while the windows floating above the prep zones abutting the 48” gas range with griddle ensure you’re always connected to the views and action outside. Like to spread out when you chef up a feast? We’ve got over 14’ of island space to inspire your everyday feasts, plus 2 dishwashers in the island (plus another in the bar) to make cleaning up a breeze. Picking up the best gourmet provisions is a breeze with Nesters Market just a short skip down the street and there’s plenty of room to store all your ingredients in the 3 fridges located in the kitchen. 2 more in the bar and 1 on the lower level ensures all your chillables should be covered! In addition to the 48” range there’s a speed oven/microwave in the baking station in the bay window so everyone can have their “zone” for different prep activities. In the morning this will be a hotspot thanks to the Nespresso machine! Since the kitchen is always the hub of the home, we’ve got you covered for lounging and hanging out. 6 leather topped counter stools wrap around the island for perching and casual dining and a 10’ long banquette tucked into the bay window offers both casual dining and lounging – all with mountain views that beckon you to get going on your adventures outside!

The Deck, 2nd Floor

The second floor deck is directly off the kitchen and has easy access via two doors. With a natural gas fire pit and deep lounge chairs you can keep a close eye on what’s grilling on the bbqs – we’ve got you covered with a Weber gas bbq and a Kamado Joe smoker bbq. A large outdoor dining table seats 8 and the elevated deck affords amazing views through the trees to the mountains beyond and out over the extensive backyard.

The Front Deck

The front deck beckons all the après-ski sun seekers with a sleek row of modern Adirondack chairs oriented to catch those afternoon rays while you reminisce about the day’s activities and escapades. Just kick back and soak up the vistas of Whistler and Blackcomb while you breathe in the fresh mountain air.

We know you’re coming to Haus Heidi for FUN but if you need a spot to connect, check email, tell the office you are too busy loving life, or make reservations and plan the day’s epic activities, you can perch at the marble topped floating desk to keep connected and get the job done.

The Home Office

Duty calls? We know you’re likely coming to Haus Heidi to do anything but work, and we know that’s not always a reality because you’re busy and important. So, when the office finds you and you need to grab a chance to connect, respond or hop on a Zoom, just pop into the office nook on the 3rd floor. With a floating desk tucked under the window and two skylights overhead, the workplace environment feels fresh and inspiring (warning: mountain views of the chairlift taking skiers to chase fresh powder may distract your focus).

The Landing Lounge, 3rd Floor

Want to steal a moment to get away from the gang, take a call, read a mag or just meditate on the awesomeness of your day while soaking up yet another mountain view? The landing lounge on the 3rd floor is that sun-soaked spot where you’ll feel compelled to curl up like a cat and luxuriate until someone discovers you’ve slipped away and coaxes you to rejoin the fun downstairs. A perfect little lounge spot tucked between the Heidi and Glacier suites on the tippy top 3rd floor looking out to the front of the house, the mountains, and leading out to the sun deck.

The Mudroom

Cross the threshold into Haus Heidi and the mudroom will give you a warm welcome with toasty toes thanks to the heated honed marble floor and will swallow up all your gear into the closets that extend down the long hallway leading to the laundry room, bar, spa bath, media room and outdoor recreation zone beyond. A giant boot dryer will ensure no one has soggy socks when you head back out to hit the slopes for another epic pow day on the mountain, and pegs will keep your skis at the ready whenever it’s time to get up and go.

The Rec Zone Bar

Just outside the media room and directly inside the garden door is the Rec Zone Bar, designed to simultaneously service your epic movie night AND all the outdoor living areas Heidi has to offer. Need a chilly beverage to enjoy while you soothe your tired muscles in the hot tub or get cozy by the fire pit? How about some refreshing hydration while you sweat it out in the sauna? Or perhaps a coffee to rejuvenate you and get you ready for what’s next? You’ll be able to stock the fridge with your favourite choices, grab a glass from the open shelves, and then load into the dishwasher when you’re all done so it’s ready the next time you are!

The Spa Bath

Our main floor bathroom is designed with multi-function in mind. Located at the back of the house right beside the media room, outdoor Rec Zone, media bar and just a few steps away from the Boulder Suite bunk room, the Spa Bath is the Swiss Army knife of bathrooms. Designed to support the Boulder Bunk Room (which has a 2 piece ensuite) and the Media Room flex space should you decide to use the daybeds for sleeping accommodations, the Spa Bath sits just inside the garden door so you can rinse off after a hot tub or sauna under the double shower heads while admiring the playful mountain riff in the wall tile and enjoying the soothing feel of the pebble floor mosaic underfoot.

The Media Room & Flex Space

You’re coming to Whistler to get out there and crush endless adventures, explore the natural beauty of the mountains, experience what life is like living in a rainforest, and also to gather, relax, make memories and take it easy. That’s where the Media Room comes in — sometimes you just want to chill out and watch a movie, binge watch a favourite show, or play a game. We’ve got 13’ of extra deep lounge seating so everyone can snuggle in together for movie night on our 10’ wide projection screen (that disappears when not in use and can be used in the daytime thanks to blackout lining on the roman blinds), plus a super comfy pair of swivel chairs, and a collection of bunching coffee tables and ottomans that slide easily in case you want to engage in a little Just Dance competition. The daybeds are 48” deep and 78” long with built-in storage for bedding so this room can be converted quickly and easily to accommodate 2 extra guests. With the Spa bath just across the hall, it delivers the opportunity to use this Flex space as a 6th suite within the main house or a 7th suite within the overall property. If you’re coming to use the house for a corporate getaway, the screen offers a great spot for presentation content and the desk tucked into the bay window offers yet another place to work away from the rest of the house.

The Outdoor Rec Zone

We know you’ll spend your days out exploring, adventuring and “doing”, but when you’re done making fresh new memories, come on back and make some more right here at your home away from home. Thanks to the huge 2nd floor deck off the kitchen we’ve got a big covered area so you can soak in the hot tub protected from the elements then nip into the custom designed and built sauna with a view through the trees. Just imagine snow gently falling past the window while you enjoy the restorative benefits of our cedar-lined sauna. Beyond the protective cover lies our fire pit and lounge area where you can enjoy the heat radiating off the natural gas fire and the sounds of the rock fountain as you gaze through the back of the property and admire the unparalleled privacy and outdoor space that this unique property has to offer. No matter what the season, the best Après in town is right here at Haus Heidi!

The Kitchen Powder Room

From the marble floor meticulously installed with an accent stripe of mosaic to the custom crafted floating marble vanity with brushed brass faucet and accents, every detail of the powder room is in tune with the naturally neutral palette of the principal living spaces on the 2nd floor of the house. Shibori-inspired textured wallpaper infuses the powder room with an artisanal touch and ensures the tiniest room in the house is outfitted with luxurious style and attention to detail.

The Laundry

Outfitted with two guest laundry areas (a laundry room on the main floor of the house and another washer/dryer in the standalone Meadow Suite), Haus Heidi is the ultimate home away from home with everything you need to keep your gang outfitted in clean & dry gear no matter where the days adventures take you. When you need fluff n fold in a hurry, we’ve got you covered!
